Banana Bread Recipe

This is actually one of my favorite pieces of food of everything on here, it comes out very moist and makes for a good, small breakfast bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted swans down cake flour
  • 1 ½ Tsp baking powder
  • ½ Tsp baking soda
  • 1 ⅓ cups sugar
  • ½ cup shorting
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup mashed bananas
  • 1 cup buttermilk, divided use
  • 2 Tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Prep

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a bread loaf pan.


Instructions

Step 1

Sift together flour, baking powder, and baking soda

Step 2

Beat sugar, shorting, and eggs. Add bananas, ½ cup buttermilk, and vanilla

Step 3

Then add sifted dry ingredients to mixture along with remaining buttermilk and pecans, alternating between them

Step 4

Pour into prepared loaf pan.

Step 5

Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan.
